Burrinjuck Club Trip 6th & 7th December 2008

Club Fishing Trip to Burrinjuck 6th & 7th December 2008

There was a good turn up at the recent club trip to Burrinjuck Dam. What was looking like a great weekend turned out to be very windy. Although the weather wasn't kind and did its best to blow us off the water a few fish were landed. Besides the reddies a 59cm cod and a 37cm yella were landed.

The group took advantage of the windy conditions on Saturday afternoon and put the final touches to the veranda extension by adding the new roof. The finished extension is a great addition and will prove to be very handy on future club trips.

Lake Glenbawn Fishing Trip - 2008

Lake Glenbawn Fishing Trip - November 2008

In early November a group of keen Gundagai Anglers spent a week fishing at Lake Glenbawn. The weather was very kind but the fishing was slower than previous years. But a good time was had by all.

The group was - Anthony Harpley, Ian Harpley, Jim Harpley, Dave Friend, Derrick, Daryl Williams, Mark and Dylan Brown, Peter Stuckey and Alan (Angry) Anderson.

The following pictures are of fish landed and of the Lake.

Picture above - Dylan Brown with a nice Bass (great smile)

The usual contest was held for the biggest Yellow Belly and Bass. The winners this year were:

biggest Yellow belly (48cm) - Daryl Williams (Daz);
biggest Silver Bream (37cm) - Dylan Brown; and

biggest Bass (38cm) - tie between Peter Stuckey and Derrick Dowell.

There were a few contestants for the usual "shirt award" and the winner still has to be decided.

One of the group wore the following attire. Do you know who owns this foot ?

Lake Monduran Trip

Lake Monduran (QLD) Fishing Trip 2008
(Daryl Williams & Peter Stuckey)

Recently Peter Stuckey and Daryl Williams spent a weeks fishing at lake Monduran. The Lake is conveniently located 20km north of Gin Gin and 4km off the Bruce Highway. It is one of the best places to experience Barramundi fishing in South East Queensland. It is about 4 hours drive north of Brisbane. It’s easily the best place to head to land that fish of a lifetime.

Here are just a few pictures of the lake and some of the Fish Peter and Daryl caught and released. They ranged from 90cm to 101cm.

Paul Martin

This cod was caught by Paul Martin from Wagga Wagga on bait on his first visit to Burrinjuck Dam in 2006. Paul tried to release it but unfortunately the cod was to injured to swim away.

Great catch Paul.

October Fishing Trip to Burrinjuck Dam

October Fishing Trip to Burrinjuck Dam

The Club held its October long weekend fishing trip at Burrinjuck Dam and even though the weather wasn't the best (we needed the rain) some nice Golden Perch and a cod were landed. Due to a lot of other fuctions being on around town only a small number of members turned up.

Those who did venture to Burrinjuck enjoyed good company, rain, rain, and more rain and some good fishing when the clouds lifted.

The members who attended were:

Anthony Harpley - landed a nice cod around 15 pounds, gave her a kiss and sent her on her way

Jim Harpley - 2.8lbs Golden Perch cleaned

Ian Harpley - below holding his 6.20lbs Golden Perch cleaned

Peter Stuckey - below holding his two Golden Perch which were released 54cm and 43cm

Ben Armour - holding his cleaned 2.15lbs Golden Perch in his left hand and has Allan's cleaned 3.90lbs Golden Perch in his right hand.

This video was taken of Peter Stuckey landing a 12 pound Murray Cod at the Clubs recent Fishing Club outing at Burrinjuck Dam on one of his own lures. The quality isn't the best, it was taken on a 5mp camera.

The picture below shows a few of Stuckeys lures. The lure on the top left caught the Cod.

Burrinjuck 13th & 14th September 2008

On the 13th and 14th of September a group of club members attended a fishing club outing held at Burrinjuck Dam. It was very quiet on the fishing front. Saturday was a beautiful day, but not many fish were caught. Peter Stuckey caught and released a very nice cod around 12 pound. The usual scatter of reddies were landed but not much size. The weekend was enjoyed by all but was cut short due to bad weather Sunday morning.

Thanks go out to those who gave their time to construct the new veranda and toilet. The new additions were well received and enjoyed by all.

The next planned outing is for the 4th, 5th and 6th of October at Burrinjuck Dam. Those interested in attending please ensure you contact Anthony or Ian Harpley.
